Fradkin's Amanda Doucette medium length mysteries combine action in the outdoors of some Canadian locale, suspense, death, and police involvement along with some romance for the lead characters. This particular novel takes place in the Georgian Bay waters. The story includes a drug death of a notably, wealthy family doctor while vacationing on one of the islands in Georgian Bay with his blended family. Amanda gets involved in the murder when she rescues the family's filipino nanny from a sinking boat while scoping the area for a potential kayaking trip.
