I liked this one better than her last few books. I really enjoyed her first two books, and then didn't like The Fairest Beauty or The Captive Maiden very much. I felt like this one redeemed the author for me. I liked Margaretha, because she talks a lot and is annoying, and also Colin, because he's arrogant. They seemed pretty real to me because of their weaknesses. However, some of their conversations and thoughts were just silly. I find Dickerson tells a lot of what they're thinking instead of showing it. Anyway, I do recommend this book to teenagers and young adults, because it is a fairy tale retelling, it is clean, and it is Christian. I will continue to read Dickerson's books because of this.
