It is Mile's birthday. Everyone wants to congratulate him in their own way. Grandpa pinches his cheek. His brother gives him a birthday noogie. The singing chicken wants to tickle him. But Miles doesn't like all of this touching. So he speaks up and tells everyone that he is the boss of his own body and should decide how he should be touched and when. His family is proud of his declaration. The illustrations are a combination of photographs with cartoon characters drawn in. They are large on the page making it easy for the little ones to understand what is going on. I love the content of this book. It is a very easy and non-intimidating way to talk about personal safety with children of young ages. You don't have to get into the topic of nasty touching. You can simply use this book as a guide to tell your children about personal boundaries. This book would be best with ages 3-7.
