This book was rather strange with a very misleading bookjacket description (and a very misleading catalogue description too). The premise is interesting - a girl who has recurring visions of her past life must make a decision about whether or not to pursue her lost love who has been reincarnated as a millionaire playboy. The main problem is the execution of the plot. The first third of the book is about Haven's growing ostracization in a small town where her grandmother is leading the "Haven is possessed by a demon" charge. There is a small sliver of Haven leaving for NYC to meet Iain where they are madly happy and globetrotting together in bliss. The rest of the book is Haven waffling between believing Iain is sincer in his affections to accusing him outright of murder and infidelity. The cast is rounded out with a fanatical preacher and a character who is supposed to be the embodiment of the devil. The ending also came out of nowhere. This is not a book about fate or soulmates. It's a book about insecurity and obsession. It's a shame because if Haven was a stronger character and actually made a decision, most of her problems could be avoided.
