A top resource on the topic, a third edition which says something for it's value. Textbook style, with everything you need to know. View Paul Stamets on YouTube and see just how fascinating he is on fungi.

If you already cultivate at a hobbyist level and want to step up to commercial level production, this is the book, or should I say tome, for you. It is a tad dry/boring though.

Though there is a LOT of useful information in this book, its a bit one sided. He doesn't give you different options to explain their pros/cons, he tells you "this is how you do it," often without even explaining why this particular methodology is so superior.

Anybody reading book this should do their own research on the side, because there are often cheaper/equally effective options out there.

though stamets easily overwhelms the casual reader, this is the resource you need if you want to grow mushrooms.

This is a textbook-style book on growing mushrooms. It is well over my head for where I am currently at now, but hopefully someday I will come back to this. Most photos are black and white, but the middle section contains beautiful color photos that make the book worth looking at even for the beginner, like myself, who dreams of growing mushrooms. Hopefully, a newer edition with more color photos and some updates on varieties that might now be cultivated will come out. But I might be dreaming. This is not really a book for the beginner.
