Fradkin's Amanda Doucette medium length mysteries combine action in the outdoors of some Canadian locale, suspense, death, and police involvement along with some romance for the lead characters. This particular novel takes place in the Georgian Bay waters. The story includes a drug death of a notably, wealthy family doctor while vacationing on one of the islands in Georgian Bay with his blended family. Amanda gets involved in the murder when she rescues the family's filipino nanny from a sinking boat while scoping the area for a potential kayaking trip. The novel addresses illegal immigration and current drug overdose issues. The author ensures that Chris, Amanda's RCMP sweetheart from her previous Newfoundland adventure is also involved in this adventure. The novel can be read as a stand alone novel. The description of the waters, sunsets, and islands in the Georgian Bay are excellent as Amanda and Chris go on boating trips to find the missing nanny, nature guide, and boating company owner.
