"The first nine months of Donald Trump's term were stormy, outrageous--and absolutely mesmerizing. Now, thanks to his deep access to the West Wing, bestselling author Michael Wolff tells the riveting story of how Trump launched a tenure as volatile and fiery as the man himself. In this explosive book, Wolff provides a wealth of new details about the chaos in the Oval Office."--

Anybody with their eyes half open would be aware of the majority of happenings in this book but putting it all together in one place was smart and this book could be used to remind oneself that things aren't normal and not to get complacent. It's worth listening to, the narrator did a good job.

I found this a hard book to read even though I'm somewhat familiar with American politics.

Interesting insight into a mind of a self thinking demigod who makes everything personal!
Author needs to put away his dictionary though, it seems like he needs to show that a he can use words that are rarely used in conversation today. The Jarvanka duo was interesting on how they influence domestic and foreign policy and how they view their own quest for power.

Great insight into what will surely go down in history as the worst presidency of the twenty-first century. Very detailed and easy to read, this book paints a clear warning to any organization about the perils of poor leadership. You may raise an eyebrow, snicker or even laugh-out-loud at Wolff's accounting of his time inside the White House, but then the morbid reality sets in that these are true stories about the very people tasked with running our country. There is more than enough backstabbing, treachery and alliance-forming to read about that you may momentarily mistake this for an episode of Dallas! (minus J.R. and Sue Ellen's witty repartee, of course) Wolff's work is invaluable for anyone wanting to know how Donald Trump has lowered the bar, not just for himself, but for traditional American norms of policy, politics, and human decency. The book is also a must-read for the approximately seventy-thousand voters of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin who took a chance, danced with the devil, and bestowed this horrific nightmare on you and I, the American people.

Excellent book, really enjoyed learning the characters and when I watch the news I recognize these players. The backstabbing, every human bad trait, incredible.....

It was funny, shocking, and pathetic. We are in for a whorl.

Illustrated by this quote, don't believe everything you hear, read and sometimes see (Part 1 of 2):
“Do you condemn the actions of neo-Nazis? Do you condemn the actions of white supremacists?”

Some ninety minutes later he stood in the Diplomatic Reception Room, his eyes locked on to the teleprompter, and delivered a six-minute statement. Before getting to the point: “Our economy is now strong. The stock market continues to hit record highs, unemployment is at a sixteen-year low, and businesses are more optimistic than ever before. Companies are moving back to the United States and bringing many thousands of jobs with them. We have already created over one million jobs since I took office.”

Illustrated by this quote, don't believe everything you hear, read and sometimes see (Part 2 of 2):

And only then: “We must love each other, show affection for each other and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry and violence. . . . We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans. . . . Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.”

It was a reluctant mini-grovel. It was something of a restaging of the take-it-back birther speech about Obama during the campaign: much distraction and obfuscation, then a mumbled acknowledgment.
