I absolutely LOVE Princess Academy series and Shannon Hale's style of writing. If you are thinking about reading it DO!! Do not be put off by the whole 'princess academy' thing, its not a group of princesses off to princess school but It is so much more than that with many layers of meaning. The forgotten sisters was an excellent finish to the series,

I love this series, and this is a totally enjoyable final installment. It follows Miri as she travels to a remote swamp to start a princess academy of her own for three cousins of the king -- and, of course, eventually gets sucked into events of national importance. I really enjoyed this: lovely writing, the perfect amount of romance, great female friendships, and, as always, lots of non-preachy emphasis on the importance of literacy. Highly recommend this entire series, especially for fans of Ella Enchanted.

Miri finally has the chance to return home but instead is sent to help out sisters in a different land to become Princess. The main character is out of her element but learns to adapt. Miri grows to love the girls she has come to help and fights for the village people who are mistreated by their leader. The story has heart, courage and a little bit of magic. The surprising ending was perfect for the last installment in the series.

Courage is not fearlessness, Master Filippus, her tutor at the Queen's Castle, had taught. Courage is feeling justly afraid and yet still doing what is right.
