"Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace: he has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You'd like to get to know Grace better. But it's difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are never apart. Some might call this true love. Picture this: a dinner party at their perfect home, the conversation and wine flowing. They appear to be in their element while entertaining. And Grace's friends are eager to reciprocate with lunch the following week. Grace wants to go, but knows she never will. Her friends call -- so why doesn't Grace ever answer the phone? And how can she cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim? And why are there bars on one of the bedroom windows? The perfect marriage? Or the perfect lie?"--

He has looks and wealth...she has charm and elegance...Jack and Grace seem to be the
perfect couple and have the perfect marriage but not everything is what it seems...dark...
twisted...psychological thriller

Excellent finish! Recommended for readers who think this sentence is much too long and descriptive.

I agree with a lot of the other comments. I felt anxious the whole time I read this book, but had to finish it because it HAD to finish better... the abuse, the animal cruelty, the prospect of abuse towards the disabled. This book sucked. Gave me nightmares.

There is enough animal abuse in the real world that it takes a real loser to decide to make some up. Horrible author and book.

While I understand there are relationships in the real world parallel to this story, I could NOT continue. For anyone who has triggers around abuse of innocence and animals, PICK A DIFFERENT BOOK.

This story of abuse about the supposedly 'perfect couple', but people don't know what happens when no one is looking. However predictable, the book is exciting and to me resembles 'The Girl on the Train' a lot. I liked it but it isn't thought-provoking.

I loved this book!! It was different and uncomfortable. We have all been in love and have given up things blindly. This is falling in love gone wrong. The British language added to the intrigue.

The first part of this book made me feel so frustrated and uncomfortable, both about the way Jack treats Grace as well as about the actions of Grace herself, which are something like the bad-marriage equivalent of going down to the basement alone with no flashlight in a horror movie. I didn't want to keep reading but I still felt compelled to do so, so I could see how the story ended.

This is another book about a man controlling and abusing a woman. Absolute trash. Don't waste your time
