When Doris Miller meets John Fremont sparks fly-at least for Doris. In the cluttered house she shared with her late mother. When Doris begins showing up at John's regular haunts, she wins over his Williamsburg friends. Her new life brings Doris a thrilling perspective, but also creates a rift between her and her longtime friends and family, who believe she's making a fool of herself over a guy half her age.

I'll be honest here. The best thing about this movie is Sally Field. Her performance was fantastic and I really think she deserves a Best Actress award. She was amazing. That being said, I didn't like this movie as much as I wanted to and if I could give it 2 1/2 stars I would. There were some funny moments and even some touching moments but the movie was too slow for me. There were parts of it that made me not want to like it, but as it moved on, it got better. I could have done without the swearing although now I realize that this movie is Rated R, but even so, it would have been a nice movie without the language. I began to feel for "Doris" as the movie went on and could even relate to some of the things that happened to her. The acting in this film was really good and it was nice to see a rather unique movie. The ending was in a way, disappointing because there are some things that could have been addressed and tied up, but it was also perfect. Watch it and see what I mean.

Rated 6/10. Sally Field is quite good in this. The rest of the performances are fairly forgettable, and I found the plot to be a bit lacking. Still, definitely worth a look.

This will be added to one of my all time favorites. Great cast and Sally Fields is fabulous. This is a real sleeper...slipped out of the theaters very fast and so glad I caught it on DVD.

This romantic/drama is about an older woman who is trying to get the attention of a younger man at her office. While watching this movie, I kind of felt like some scenes were significantly cringier than they needed to be, with Doris Miller (played by Sally Field) making a fool out of herself to get the attention of John Fremont (played by Max Greenfield). I will admit, I did find it interesting seeing things in a new perspective since typically men are older than their romantic counterparts in films and real-life. The movie was no masterpiece and was hard to watch at times, but I would still rate it 3/5 stars.

Very funny--I laughed out loud--but poignant in story line as well

Picked it up as a 'chick flick' and was surprised that my husband loved it, too!

Enjoyable movie. Sally Field is perfect as Doris. Very well acted, funny and sad movie about an aging woman who has lived with and taken care of her mother until mother passed away.
