Rescuing a teen boy from a violent mob, fugitive royal Dagger Ixur becomes an unlikely ally to the boy's mother, Usahara Altaan, a rare Andarion Fyreblood whose people are being hunted to extinction by assassins from The League.

McMillan Palgrave

Blockbuster bestselling Dark-Hunter author Sherrilyn Kenyon is back with the League—and one of the most notorious heroes of all time in Born of Legend. . .

Hunted. Hated. Betrayed. Outcast Dagger Ixur is on the run for his life. As one of the most recognizable members of his royal house, he has a bounty on his head that guarantees him no quarter from any friend or even family. But surrender isn’t in him. He will fight to the bitter end—a resolve that is sorely tested when he narrowly escapes a trap that leaves him severely wounded. With what he believes is his dying breath, he saves a boy born to an extinct race from a group out to enslave the kid for his legendary abilities.

Ushara Altaan has spent her entire life hating the Andarion royal house that drove away her entire species. When Dagger saves her son’s life, she is torn between her Tavali people and a debt that can never be repaid. Meanwhile, the League assassins after Dagger will stop at nothing to claim the lives of Ushara and her kind. The only hope she has left is to put her faith—and her family’s future—into the hands of the very enemy whose grandmother personally extinguished Ushara’s lineage. But how can Ushara ever trust Dagger when he is a disinherited outlaw whose real name is synonymous with betrayal?

I loved this book so much that I bought it for my own shelf! I'd recommend reading the other books in the series to understand all of the references and twists, but it could easily stand alone as amazing!

My favorite of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, Born of Legend will make you cry, laugh, rage and everything in between. Jullian, in Born of Night, seems yo be truly a horrible person but through out this book, he makes the reasons become clear. Emotionally and physically abused by his family, Jullian spent the early years of his life just trying to survive. As soon as his presumed dead twin, Nyk resurfaces, Jules is cast out and banished as if he was a piece of trash. the book follows him and Ushara, the VA of a nation of space pirates, as they fall in love. This is a romance novel, make no mistake, but a romance novel with amazing witty banter, realistic and often very unique characters and, as previously stated, space pirates. What could go wrong?

Another winner from SK. I cried, I laughed until I cried and was on the edge on the edge of my seat a lot of the time. Oh, and I cursed at the hateful, ugly people, and I use the term "people" loosely. I loved all the characters except the "higher ups". I wanted them dead at least as much as Jullien did. Ushara was such a wonderful fit for Jullien, I loved her so much. When she and Jullien had the twins, they made me laugh until I cried. They were so precious. You most certainly won't go wrong with this novel. Just make sure you've got the time. It's 762 pages and so think I had to prop it on 2 pillows. "Uncle Arthur" isn't very forgiving. I ended up having to renew this in order to get it finished, but so worth it. I just love this author! I wish we could rate our great books more than just 5 stars, but I guess everyone knows that's the highest so, it's all good. Happy Reading!

This was my favorite League book to date, I laughed, I cried. I actually listened to the audio "highly recommend," when I realized who the book was about, completely floored me. I am so glad she wrote this one, lots of insight into all the previous books. Some very likeable characters in this one. Definately a 10!

One of the best books Sherrilyn has written so far. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Very in-depth, gives great understanding of the character. Turns a villain into a hero. I think that's what amazed me most.

I love reading the "Born of" series. This was a very enjoyable but a little confusing as it happened over a period of time where some of the other books have already taken place. Loved the story and build up. Highly recommend it.

I have to say I really enjoyed reading this book. I had tears in my eyes through most of it because of what Dagger had gone through from a little boy to an adult. Parents, and all family hurt him whenever they could. He finally met Ushara when he saved her son and his life began to change. Just when you think his life is good, something happens to mess him up again. I have read just about everything by Sherrilyn Kenyon and am a big fan. Outstanding book.
