Listen, if I don't know anything else, what I do know for sure is that Jojo Moyes knows how to pen a well-thought out, engaging story full of characters that are each captivating in their own unique way. I really, really enjoy reading her books, so I'm not surprised that like her other novels, Silver Bay sucked me right in. I know that its been on the market for awhile but it's definitely worth reading it you haven't already.
I didn't like this book at all. I struggled to get through it. The best part of this book is the setting of the sleepy seaside town. the main character (Liza )is selfish and cold and it beats me how Mike fell for her. Yes I know its a case of wanting the things that seems impossible to get but I couldn't find anything to like about her. I'm glad Jojo's later works got better!
It does start up slow but still a very enjoyable read. Love this authors storytelling ability. Her other novels have lead me to this one. Her best to me is still. Me Before You.
Although slow to warm up to in the beginning, "Silver Bay", an earlier work of fiction by Jojo Moyes, was still worth the time it took to read it. There's the typical love story we come to expect with a Jojo Moyes novel. But, there's also a David vs. Goliath story with an enviromental twist, as townspeople take on a real estate corporation bent on ruining their seaside town.
Set in Australia, this is satisfying romance dealing with dolphins, whales and big development. Although, this isn’t my favorite of Moyes, I enjoyed the story and the characters.
Another wonderful book by Jojo Moyes. I loved the interaction of the characters, the small town fighting against a large development, the whales, etc. Be sure to check out other books by this author!
Not one of my favorite JoJo Moyes novel, it just dragged on and came to life with only about 100 pages left.
