Lots of unlikeable characters to deal with but our hero is up to the task and actually getting paid for once. Can anyone actually be as dumb as the client is portrayed or is she very smart?

Good book, I enjoyed it. 7 of 10 for me.

Spenser is an enjoyable character, and his dialogue is amusing. He investigates the murder of a wealthy man Smith, whose widow is a young socialite who is not very bright. Not sure what plan to follow, Spencer interviews people on the Smiths' social list, and each one is murdered after the interview. There is enough variety of suspects to keep the book interesting, and there's a twist to the ending, but the body count is high.
