It's a strange experience to read a fantastical and magical series such as this and still feel the overwhelming emotion of reality, as if this world is a true possibility in our own and that the boundaries of the pages no longer limit what it can be.
This fourth and final installation of the Raven Cycle is intense. Possession, worry, love, and fear spring up constantly throughout the novel like a field of daisies.
Gansey knows he's going to die. He doesn't know exactly when, how or why, but deep down he knows it's going to be within the year.
Blue is trying to get back to a 'normal' life but it bores the crap outta her, especially after all the intensity of what happened the month before. But it looks like there won't be a way for her to get to college, so she's got to do the best for her future and make her dreams of travel come true.
Noah is fading. Decaying, really. His soul is the tiniest possible thread it could be and yet he's still hanging on. He can't move on quite yet.
Adam is still doing all he can for the ley line, but he still has trouble at times without Persephone. He needs to trust Cabeswater completely, but is it all right?
Ronan is falling for Adam. He knows it but he can't stop. When he dreams, he sees nightmare after nightmare, and evidently brings someone back through them, a person he never meant to leave his dreams.
Piper is alive. And using the favor of a demon to get what she believes is her heart's desire. Doesn't matter the price. Who cares about some trees?
Cabeswater is fighting a battle it cannot win. The third sleeper is awake and unmaking everything that was dreamt into being. It needs the Raven Boys and Blue to save it.

This book was well done, and I felt that the storyline concluded in an almost-totally satisfying way. I can honestly say I'm said for it to end :(

I love this series, and The Raven King provides the perfect ending. It took me a while to recover from this “book hangover.” The Raven Cycle books are lush, lyrical, and wistful. The kind of magic that makes you wish magic was real. The Raven King ups the drama: the stakes are higher, the magic is creepier, and yes, all that built up romantic tension finally pays off. I’m going to miss these kids (although apparently a Ronan-centric series is in the works? Fingers crossed).

interesting ending to the series. It did tend to lose momentum toward the end, but I would still recommend it

An amazing finale to an incredible series! Magic realism, psychics with a sprinkle of southern charm? Look no further. This teen book will knock your socks off!

The fourth and final book in the Raven Cycle series. Stiefvater does a good job of wrapping up almost all of her many plot and character threads. A couple of the minor ones seemed a little rushed or not completely complete, but we can hope that means she's leaving room for more books.

The writing is compelling and clever. There are twists and turns. Revelations are made, at least one of which I would classify as breath-taking. Some characters know more than we've realized, while others know less than they thought they did. All of the story arcs converge as the hunt for Glendower nears completion. It doesn't end in a predictable way, but the ending makes sense.

A well-paced, satisfying conclusion.

I was disappointed in the ending. Everything was wrapped up, end of story. I wanted more action, a more epic ending for such a great series.

A powerful and beautiful conclusion to this series featuring psychics, ley lines, sleeping Welsh kings, and dreaming. I will miss hanging out with these characters.

A really great series that I definitely recommend. Many great elements went into this story and the character development was AWESOME. It's hard to believe that this is the same author that wrote the "Shiver" series - they are so different, and The Raven Cycle, is by far the superior piece of writing. I loved it!

A satisfying end to a good series. I was happy with the ending and the outcomes for the various characters, but more kissing! MORE KISSING!

The reader goes into The Raven King with many questions built up over the course of the series. Will Gansey really die? And stay dead? Will it be Blue’s kiss that kills him? Can they find Glendower before it is too late? And how will they use his favour with so many things going wrong at once? Some elements are expected, others are boldly anti-climactic. Yet the places and the characters of The Raven Cycle linger in the imagination, so it is fitting that The Raven King draws to a close with an ending that emphasizes the journey rather than the destination.

Sexual Content: Non-explicit making out between two characters. Very sweet.

Violence: Magic violence occurs. It's gory, but not explicitly so. More creepy than anything else, really.

The Raven Cycle draws to a close as Richard Gansey embarks on the final leg of his quest to unearth the sleeping Welsh King, Owen Glendower, and gain his favour. Adam is still tightly bound to Cabeswater even as the magical forest is corrupted by dark forces. Nor has the threat that the outside world will discover that Ronan is the Greywaren entirely abated. And Noah seems to be fading, becoming ever more ghostly and unpredictable, the merest shadow of his living self. As Blue and the Raven Boys search, two predictions hang over their heads: Gansey will die sometime this year, and Blue will kill her true love if she kisses him; it seems inevitable that the two will intersect.
