From bestselling author Sidney Sheldon, based on notes he left behind, comes a thrilling tale of murder, lies, and lust. LAPD Detective Danny McGuire could never forget the face of Angela Jakes and the nightmare she endured--raped, beaten, and tied to the murdered body of her elderly husband, multimillionaire art dealer Andrew. His obsession nearly cost McGuire his sanity, even after the stunning young widow disappeared without a trace. Ten years later, living in France and working for Interpol, he's put the past behind him . . . until Matt Daley, Andrew Jakes's estranged son, walks into his life.

I listened to the audio reading of this book and really enjoyed it a lot. Yes it was a bit far fetched and the end was disappointing. But it was a suspenseful tale with some very interesting characters. In all it was good escapist fun and helped to lift my mind off the tedium of work. Strongly recommend the audio version of the book as well as the other audio readings of her novel.

I give this book a Five Star Avoid - and a recommendation that it be submitted to university classes as a great demo of advertising fraud. It's not by Sheldon but by a poor writer who put together a tale that is mind numbing and a complete bore. Furthermore crucial details have been left out because she did not bother to have her work edited: why did the monies go to charities? How were the victims selected? Were there to be more victims? She suggested they were at the last one. Why was four the magic number? And those are just the major errors and omissions.

Mediocre read. Annoyingly predictable and full of cliches.
