Insightful and often hilarious, it surveys the history of Jewish comedy, from the early days of Borscht Belt to the present, ultimately exploring not just ethnicity in the entertainment industry, but also the entire unruly question of what it means to be Jewish. Popular comedians from the past and present provide an abundance of surprising opinions and witty humor.

I found this very funny and it explains a lot about my family and their humor. Definitely recommend it.

An interesting discussion.

Very dull documentary - surprised how boring it got so quickly. And there is nothing funny included.

@mrovner: I couldn't disagree more about the quality of the documentary. Sure, Super Dave berates Alan Zweig (the interviewer) at some points, but I think that has more to do with Super Dave's style and sense of humor than the director's interviewing capabilities. And of course the subjects of the film overshadow Zweig, they are monumental personalities and performers after all! I still really enjoyed the conversations that were situated in Zweig's master narrative of "I'm really sad because I'm not Jewish like people used to be Jewish." This doc (just like any other film) is not for everyone, but I found it hilariously insightful.
