"This story of passion and missed chances is entrancing." —Parade

A Brief Encounter for our time, The Last Letter from Your Lover is a sophisticated, spellbinding double love story that spans decades and thrillingly evokes a bygone era. In 1960, Jennifer Stirling wakes in the hospital and remembers nothing—not the car accident that put her there, not her wealthy husband, not even her own name. Searching for clues, she finds an impassioned letter, signed simply "B," from a man for whom she seemed willing to risk everything. In 2003, journalist Ellie Haworth stumbles upon the letter and becomes obsessed with learning the unknown lovers’ fate—hoping it will inspire her own happy ending. Remarkably moving, this is a novel for romantics of every age.

A sophisticated, page-turning double love story spanning forty years-an unforgettable Brief Encounter for our times.

It is 1960. When Jennifer Stirling wakes up in the hospital, she can remember nothing-not the tragic car accident that put her there, not her husband, not even who she is. She feels like a stranger in her own life until she stumbles upon an impassioned letter, signed simply "B", asking her to leave her husband.

Years later, in 2003, a journalist named Ellie discovers the same enigmatic letter in a forgotten file in her newspaper's archives. She becomes obsessed by the story and hopeful that it can resurrect her faltering career. Perhaps if these lovers had a happy ending she will find one to her own complicated love life, too. Ellie's search will rewrite history and help her see the truth about her own modern romance.

A spellbinding, intoxicating love story with a knockout ending, The Last Letter from Your Lover will appeal to the readers who have made One Day and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society bestsellers.

This was a great story, if not a little bit of a slow read for me. Not one to keep me up wondering about what was going to happen if I didn't read the next chapter, but would be great if ever adapted to the big screen.

This one had me in AGONY and up all night. How two people could miss connecting by mere minutes or threads of communication for YEARS on end! The guilt, the self punishment, the constraints of society in the 1960's.....Honestly, if it weren't for the young reporter I would have thrown this book against the wall. And I absolutely LOVE the abrupt ending, leaving all to the imagination. THIS is typical JoJo for you!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jojo Moyes is a gifted storyteller. Her writing is brilliant and she really knows how to engage her readers. I'm obsessed with her books and I still have 5 more of them to read. The Last Letter from Your Lover is a good romance novel that's perfect for a Saturday spent a home or a trip to the beach. To be quite honest, I don't need a specific setting to enjoy Moyes' novels; that's how hooked I am on her stories.

Whoa...what a concept. I devoured this novel by the author of "Me Before You." I would recommend this and "The Girl You Left Behind" as some of Moyes' stronger books.

It took me awhile to get into this book, but the ending was satisfying.

I was intrigued by the summary on the book flap of this novel. The plot had many twists that had the reader agonizing for each of the main characters. I highly recommend this novel for romance readers and those who love to explore the foibles of humans. I shall certainly be searching for more books by this author.

A bit different and leaning more on the mature side for adults. It's romance based and was an average story. If you enjoy romance stories this is your pick! I think it was a bit too much romance for me, and I would have preferred more action and mystery in the story. Not as good as Moyes' other book, "Me before You" but overall decent.

A nicely done romance, weaving together the 1960's & present day. Some of JoJo's stuff can be uneven, but this a strong novel; the characters are well drawn & believable.

A beautifully written story, With characters you find yourself hoping and wanting good things for. I found myself looking for her other novels and was not disappointed. A good read.
