Barnaby and Jones investigate a seemingly supernatural murder after local farmer Alex Preston is found dead in the middle of a stone circle in Midsomer Mow. Love the "new" Inspector Barnaby. Yes, he's a bit more low key than our previous Inspector, but he's very good. I like the moments of family life with his wife and dog. Like his "second" and how well they work together.

Give it time, you'll learn to love them too,

"Night of the stag". Killing a man by putting him into the tongs of a mechanical tree shaker? Upholding a centuries old tradition of putting antlers on your head and then going over to the neighboring village to ravage women who have been waiting a whole year for the rituation? I can see people making moonshine and hating the local revenuers but the Brits have outdone the hillfolk of America. Who comes up with a character listed as "Smudgepot"?

"A Sacred Trust" is another demonstration that someone in the Midsomer Murders series is so anti-church or anti-Christian that they must ridicule any and all believers. I am disappointed with this trend. As for Neil Dudgeon being the star of Midsomer Murders: Hah! .
