Interesting story, difficult to watch at some points and a bit too long.

This is a courageously honest film about a woman who managed to break several chains in her personal history to allow her kind-hearted self to shine through. Much of this is hard to see/hear/witness. Her steps forward sometimes include steps backward too; this is a documentary, and life is like that. I highly recommend this to people who work in systems dealing with domestic violence, child welfare and protection, and First Nations people. There is much to learn in this film.
