I have read all of Linwood Barclay's books, enjoyed and/or loved them all. This is my favourite, highly recommend.

Tantalizing and gripping in the way the author moves the story.

Great suspenseful murder mystery. Lots of things happening. I listened to the book. It kept my attention even though I was at work. Well worth my time!

Linwood Barclay is such a wonderful writer, so easy to read, yet he holds you in suspense to the end. Get ready for some real surprises. The story is mainly told through the eyes of Ray Kilbride, an editorial cartoonist, whose father has just died. He returns to his hometown of Promise Falls in upstate New York to deal with the funeral and finds his younger brother, Thomas who is schizophrenic, excited by something. Thomas patrols the cities of the world on a computer app "Whirl360" memorizing the streets and its maps for, ostensibly, the CIA and a former US President! Has he stumbled on a murder in progress in New York? Ray is sceptical but he agrees to visit the Big Apple to put his brother's notion to rest. And it starts. Always the thought Thomas is making this up. A sense of rising dread too.

Another terrific book by this author. The ending was totally unexpected. I'm so glad I found this author and I look forward to reading many more.

"Thomas Kilbride is a schizophrenic, map-obsessed shut-in who believes he's in touch with both the CIA and former President Bill Clinton. He also believes he's seen a murder. His brother Ray, in town for their father's funeral and to decide what's to be done with Thomas, reluctantly agrees to investigate. His amateur efforts expose them both to some truly dangerous people who want nothing more than to hide all evidence of their activities. Sympathetic characters and a gripping, wildly twisting plot characterise this fast-paced suspense story; for a similar experience with another doubt-defying individual, try Chris Ewan's Safe House." Absolutely FANTASTIC read. As always, everytime you thought you knew what was happening, everything would get turned on its head. Right until the very end. Couldn't put it down.
