This dramatic historical romance begins with the end: a Jewish wife and her Jewish husband were separated by the chaos of World War II but are miraculously reunited at their grandchildren's wedding. Most of the vividly portrayed characters in this heartfelt novel are based on real Jewish people who suffered greatly through the war. I also appreciated Richman's dedicated research about some of the lesser-known Jewish concentration camps located in Czechoslovakia.
