“I would say that C. J. Box is at the top of his form, but the top just keeps moving ever upward...A nonstop thrill ride not to be missed!”—
Bookpage

When Earl Alden is found dead, dangling from a wind turbine, his wife, Missy, is arrested. Unfortunately for Joe Pickett, Missy is his much-disliked mother-in-law, and he’s not sure what to do—especially since it looks like Missy is guilty as sin.

But then things happen to make Joe wonder: Is Earl's death what it appears to be? Is Missy being set up? He has the county DA and sheriff on one side, his wife on the other, his estranged friend Nate on a lethal mission of his own, and some powerful interests breathing down his neck. Whichever way this goes, it’s not going to be good...

Baker & Taylor
Joe Pickett is unsure of what he should do when his mother-in-law, whom he dislikes heartily, is accused of killing her husband, Earl, but Joe gradually begins to wonder if Earl's death is what it seems.

An interesting look at wind farm energy, as well as the bizarre death of Joe Pickett's father-in-law. Could tiny Missy even had the strength to kill and string her husband upon the giant windmill? Meanwhile, tragedy for Nate Romanowski sets the master falconer on a vengeful quest for his kind of justice, and a cliff-hanger ending.

Another great C.J.Box novel, as well as introducing information about wind farms that most people aren't aware of. It is interesting that sometimes you have to read fiction to learn facts. I wish all of his books were available in audio. His reader makes them particularly enjoyable.

Not only a fascinating mystery, this also provides a look at wind farms from a perspective that was new to me.
