A woman’s life and love are compromised in this pulse-pounding thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood.

Dr. Ellie Sullivan has witnessed the shooting of an FBI agent in pursuit of a ruthless modern-day Bonnie and Clyde known as the Landrys. The only person to see the shooter’s face, Ellie is suddenly thrust into the center of a criminal investigation spearheaded by the no-nonsense, by-the-book, and tantalizingly handsome agent Max Daniels.

With the Landrys captured, she’ll be called to testify. But the Landrys have been caught before, and each time the witnesses are scared into silence—or disappear. Now Max vows to be Ellie’s shadow, promising never to leave her side until the trial. But that could be dangerous for both of them, and it isn’t long before the sparks—and the bullets—fly.

Baker & Taylor
Dr. Ellie Sullivan has just completed her residency at a large urban hospital. While jogging in a park nearby she witnesses the fatal shooting of an FBI agent in pursuit of wanted criminals. She is targeted by a shadowy criminal couple called the Landrys, and, as the only person to see the shooter's face, Ellie is suddenly at the center of a criminal investigation. After Agent Max Daniels takes over the Landry case he pledges to protect Ellie until she takes the witness stand. The two of them find their close quarters leading to passionate feelings. He's definitely not the ideal man that Ellie has always imagined, yet she's attracted to him in a way she can't explain.

I loved this book. Attraction, suspense, and humor.....a spectacular combination.

A quick, enjoyable read. Heroine is not TSTL (Too Stupid To Live) and was cool in a crisis, as befits a trauma surgeon. Hero was pretty generic (which is ironic, given the title). You'll flip the pages like crazy pants while you're reading it, even if it doesn't stay with you for long.

It was a okay read for me. the story line wasn't that bad. It's not has good as can1995 say It is. and the romance happen almost at the ending of the book.

Loved this book. Pretty typical Garwood story and likeable characters. Ellie is a brilliant surgeon who loves her job. Max is the hero FBI agent and sparks fly immediately. You know how it will end, but the suspense is the telling of the story.

Julie Garwood is definitely my guilty pleasure author. The books are never going to win any literary awards, but they're just so easy to get through and enjoyable that I can't help myself!

Formulaic & unoriginal. No surprises here as the ending is never in doubt.
