This book and the whole River of time series is AMAZING!!!!! The order of the books are Waterfall (this one), Cascade, Torrent, Bourne, Tributary, and Deluge. They are all probably one of the best books you will ever read.

It took me so long to find this series but I was so glad that I did. I fell in love with the characters and the plot. It was a startling historical romance that captured the hearts of everyone that read it. This is an amazing book for anyone who loves Italy, adventure and true love. The rest of the series was just a nice way to end the rest of the series. Hope you all love it as well.

Amazing book. Hands down, phenomenal.
Gripping, full of action, suspense and danger (and yes, the characters actually get wounded, instead of narrowly escaping each time, which can be annoying)
The romance was charming, and the emotional ties strong. Plot was intriguing, always moving forward at a fast pace, and never lagged. The men were emotionally present, and followed through to be the knight in shining armour material that one would expect from a book in this time period.
Brava, Lisa Bergren! I recommend this book highly.

Holy. Cow. This is a masterful combination of heart-stopping action, thrilling adventure, frustrating yet beautiful mystery, and achingly complex romance. With an unassuming concept, yet an astonishingly well-put-together plotline, this is the hole in the wall book that you'd never suspect to be so gosh-darned awesome!

Most American teenagers want a vacation in Italy, but the Betarrini sisters have spent every summer of their lives among the romantic hills with their archaeologist parents. Stuck among the rubble of medieval castles in rural Tuscany on yet another hot, dusty archaeological site, Gabi and Lia are bored out of their minds... Until Gabi places her hand atop a hand-print in an ancient tomb and finds herself in fourteenth-century Italy. And worse yet, in the middle of a fierce battle between knights of two opposing forces. Suddenly Gabi's summer in Italy is much, much more interesting.

What do you do when your Knight in Shining Armor lives, literally, in a different world?
