Fairly basic content. Nothing really ground breaking but a good read and I picked up a few good tips.

One of the funniest financial books that I've ever read. Enjoyed the lighthearted style with regard to this topic.

Okay, I don't know Dave, but sure loved his first book! It whetted my appetite for many more personal finance books from which our family developed our own financial plan. Happy to read Returns for reinforcement of the first message, if nothing else, and to see if there were any changes in advice gleaned over time and experience. A good read.

No new information compare to the previous and not as good as the first Wealthy barber, very boring read, practically unreadable in some places.
Advice is non-existent and difficult to follow.

Just finished reading the wealthy barber returns. I believe it should be required reading in all highschools. I have 3 adult children who are just starting out in life and I have gone out and bought them each a copy (hopefully they will read it). My wife ur old school about our finances and it was heartening to know that Dave Chilton is on our side. Great read...another bestseller

Heard a fascinating interview on CBC's The Next Chapter where Chilton answers the Proust questionnaire. Sounds like a guy with his head screwed on right!

Okay, disclaimer right off the top: Dave is a close personal friend of mine! Honest - ask him!
However, he'd also be the first to tell you I wasn't crazy about his first book (proof read it) "The Wealthy Barber" (which went on to become the best selling nonfiction work in Canada, ever): it's slightly hoaky "novel" style and the fact it had no index. What do I know, though : it was unbelieveably successful & clearly struck a chord with millions. I have to say I'm more enchanted with "Returns" -- Dave continues in his casual style, and again - I think he's timed this advice perfectly for Canadians. It's the reverse of the Buckley's Cough Syrup ads -- it goes down easy AND is good for you!
