A novel of love, tragedy, and hope follows sixteen-year-old Paul "Power" Clay and Tanya "Beauty" Long as they are driven apart by the actions of their new guardian, a rich hustler, and take two very different paths.

Tip Harris, better known as Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum selling hip-hop artist and actor T.I., is at the top of his game. Now he displays yet another side of his remarkable talents with Power & Beauty, a love story of life on the streets. Set in the dangerous shadows of Atlanta, Georgia, Power & Beauty is a dark, gritty story of sex, violence, hustling, and redemption centered around Paul “Power” Clay and Tanya “Beauty” Long—two kids facing long odds and lethal temptations, yet whose miraculous, unbreakable bond ultimately becomes their salvation. A love story, a crime story, a survival story, Power & Beauty bristles with an electrifying authenticity born of Tip “T.I.” Harris’s hard life on the streets. This is exhilarating, brutally honest, page-turning urban African-American fiction at its very best.

After the death of his mother, Paul "Power" Clay allows himself to be guided by Slim, a local businessman. Power is sure that if he learns Slim's ways, he'll make something of himself-- and perhaps be worthy of Tanya "Beauty" Long. From Chicago to Miami to New York, through drugs, women, and violence, Power makes the difficult transition from boy to man and, in doing so, begins to question if those who have taught him truly have his best interests at heart.
The hip hop artist makes his street lit debut in this gripping novel of love, tragedy and hope that follows 16-year-old Paul "Power" Clay and Tanya "Beauty" Long as they, due to the actions of their new guardian, a rich hustler, are driven apart and take two very different paths. 125,000 first printing.

It shocked me in the beginning, bored me in the middle, picked up its pace and ended with a powerful twist! Its a cross between "urban" fiction and a mystery.
