Seventeen-year-old Farley has led a sheltered life, raised on a diet of home schooling, organic living and trips to the art gallery. To his parents' dismay, Farley loves to play shinny with the local rink rats. To their even greater dismay, Farley is scouted and signed by the owner (Stephen McHattie) of a junior league team, where he becomes an instant star. But Farley discovers that stardom comes with a price-including the expectation to fight on the ice. Throw in a changing relationship with his best friend (Allie MacDonald), and Farley finds himself losing his way.

OMG this was dreadful, and I gave it an hour of my life. The music is poor, the acting is dreadful, the writing is dreck, the choreography is amateurish, and seriously, there wasn't a single Canadian actress available so they had to cast Olivia Newton-John? The positives? There are some nice interior shots of the AGO, the film has decent production values, and a bunch of Canadians were employed. I can enjoy silly (when I'm in the mood for it), I admire well-done satire, I like hockey, I appreciate a well-made musical - but this is NONE of those. If you want funny WITH Canadiana in-jokes, get "Men with Brooms" or "Bon Cop Bad Cop" instead.

A musical with a hockey theme, Score is a quirky and surprisingly entertaining love story. I picked it up thinking it would not last the 20-minute test but it captivated me with its engaging characters and well-choreographed song and dance scenes. Try it. You'll like it!

Surprised to say it came pretty close to being good!

Hockey and music just don't mix. I couldn't watch the whole thing.

If you don't like musicals, hockey or Canadiana, you won't like this movie. But if you do, and you appreciate tongue-in-cheek humour, you just may well love this movie. None of the people with whom I saw this movie expected much, but we all ended up really enjoying it - it was much better than it had a right to be, and much much better than some reviews would have you believe. --- [Note to reviewers: if you don't like the genre or hate the topic, maybe you shouldn't be reviewing this type of movie. it could be absolutely perfect within its parameters and you'd still hate it. ]
