This is an older series and it does show, but it is still an interesting look at how the legal field developed in England during this period of history.

Well done, I had no idea who Garrow was I love the fact it is based on someone who lived and sought out to make a difference and stood his ground on making a change.

Garrow's Law is a fantastic British crime-courtroom drama. It is that much more remarkable in the fact that this is based on a real historic character who fought to change the British justice system. I particularly enjoyed the role played by Aidan McArdle as the dastardly and conniving Silvester. He also played the part of Lord Loxley in the Mr. Selfridge series and incidently has one of the most punchable faces in showbiz. I give Garrow's Law four stars.

I had no clue as to the importance of this series to modern day law. After the 1st series I Googled Garrow & finally watched the Special Features - highly recommend the background info first. Only since 1992 has the judicial system paid attention to the significance of what Garrow established. 'Innocent until proven guilty' - 'heresay' & much more. More than 100 years after his death are his practices so important. Period piece, wigs & 'courtly' misbehavior, the snobbery of 'class' & the foul treatment of poor. Try to look past the fashion & decipher the language to realize the impact on today's justice system.

If you are interested in the law or history of the law you'll likely enjoy this series. William Garrow was a real person and the cases portrayed are also taken from the court's records. Garrow was an underdog who, with passion and hard work, became a skilled advocate for others. His work influenced change.

It's best to watch this series starting with the first one and progressing through them in order to fully appreciate the characters, relationships, and politics.

Worth watching.

Few people have affected a cultural change so much as novice law practitioner William Garrow. Recommended to anyone over 12 whom is interested in the law.

So so mediocre acting and sets hamper this period-drama piece. Overall, I would say stick with watching your married neighbors duke it out in their driveway instead... Far more entertaining...

Wonderful series. An authentic- production-values 'time machine' ! I only wish there were more episodes,.. and evin more bonus extras about the legal procedures at that time.
