I like Ilsa J. Bick's work on the Ashes trilogy. This was was a good book and very interesting to consider this type of special "gift" that the lead character is given. However I felt that some parts were slow and confusing, I would have to read over a couple times to make sure I read what I thought I did. Towards the middle I was able to put the story ending together as most avid readers are able. I did enjoy it for the most part but skimmed through the last 10 chapters. DO NOT let this hinder you from looking into Ilsa's other works, She is a great writer and the Ashes Trilogy is so far a much better read.
