Slow and depressing.
This is a 2001 war-time drama directed by Lyndon Chubbuck.
In Canada Lily's dreams are soon shattered by the reality of her new home.
Lily is met with an icy reception from her bitter mother-in-law and crippled sister-in-law who have little use for Lily's big city ways.
And the dream ranch Charlie bragged about is nothing more than a dirt-farm with a tumbled-down tiny shack in the midle of nowhere.
With time, however, Lily's unconditioned love for Chartlie and spirited nature eventually captivate her in-laws.
Although Charlie gets back home, he appears in distress.
Things don't turn out as blissful and easy, but true love seems to bound them together.
Lovely movie! I think this movie was probably a very accurate depiction of the real experiences of many of our war brides. Very human and real. Good acting.
i think this would have been a good movie, unfortunately, our dvd player couldn't read it: Library patrons please take care of library dvd rentals!
