Every Which Way but DeadPre-loaded Audiobook - 2007
"The world of the Hollows is fast-moving, funny, harrowing and scary, and -- the greatest compliment to a fantasy -- absolutely real." -- New York Times bestselling author Diana Gabaldon There's no witch in Cincinnati tougher, sexier, or more screwed up than bounty hunter Rachel Morgan, who's already put her love life and her soul in dire jeopardy through her determined efforts to bring criminal night creatures to justice. Between "runs," she has her hands full fending off the attentions of her blooddrinking partner, keeping a deadly secret from her backup, and resisting a hot new Vamp suitor. Rachel must also take a stand in the war that's raging in the city's underworld, since she helped put away its former vampire kingpin --and made a deal with a powerful demon to do so that could cost her an eternity of pain, torment, and degradation. And now her dark "master" is coming to collect his due. Born and raised in Tornado Alley, Kim Harrison now resides in the more sultry climes of South Carolina. She is the New York Times bestselling author of For a Few Demons More, Dead Witch Walking, The Good the Bad and the Undead, and A Fistful of Charms. Visit her at www.kimharrison.net. Marguerite Gavin has recorded over 200 audiobooks in nearly every genre, including Harrison's For a Few Demons More Black and Black & White by Dani Shapiro. AudioFile magazine says, "Marguerite Gavin has a sonorous voice, rich and full of emotion.... She easily delivers wry humor."

This is the third book/audio book in a great series. It is fun, magical and action packed. I love the characters. You feel like you are going through everything with Rachel. Rachel is clumsy, strong willed, hard headed and can kick butt with the best of them. I liked her with Nick but felt he put her at risk with always calling the demon but when she accidentally makes him her familiar for her class. Nick can't handle feeling the power coursing through him when she pulls on a ley line but instead of being a man about it and telling her he tries to sneak off in the middle of the night without telling her. He doesn't leave any way for her to get a hold of him, she doesn't want to believe it but knows he's not coming back. Out of loneliness she agrees to go out Kisten who is turning out to be a decent guy and who Rachel has smoking hot chemistry with. I like Nick but he's going to have to do something big to redeem himself at this point.
The narrator (Marguerite Gavin)for the audio book does a fantastic job with the different voices for the characters and using the right tone to in their voices. No monotone from her. Awesome job Marguerite Gavin and Kim Harrison.
I give it 5 stars and can't wait to read the next book in the series.
