As a joint production between Yorkshire Television and WGBH-Boston, My Uncle Silas aired intermittently in the U.K. and the U.S. from 2001 to 2003. Adapted from the writings of H.E. Bates, and set over the course of one long hot summer around the turn of the 20th century, this whimsical and occasionally rollicking chronicle tells of the adventures of a loveable and charming rascal, Uncle Silas whose sweet-natured 10-year-old nephew Edward (Joe Prospero) is spending the summer in the English countryside with him. Silas promptly sets about instructing Edward in the ways of country life; he also spends the summer indulging in many of his favorite pastimes, such as poaching in the local pond, rolling in the hay, making homemade wine and romancing women in the area.

Once again, mischievous Silas is up to his usual ways. I love how the stories are interesting enough.
