Can't go wrong with Bittman. When I'm at my end with eating and cooking I read him and fell inspired again.

I was a bit disappointed that there were no pictures in this book, but the recipes all had common ingredients, and were things that you could cook up in no time, I'm definitely going to try a lot of these.

As a working mom, I appreciate that this book has lots of good ideas for getting nutritious meals on the table quickly. I've browsed the whole book and made three recipes (two chicken and one salmon) that were all quite tasty and easy. I love that it is organized by time of year using ingredients that are in season (recipes that have few ingredients require that those ingredients taste good). Note that this is not a good book for new cooks as instructions for cooking techniques are not detailed. Also, the recipes are just paragraphs - no ingredients lists at the beginning like others have.

This is a brilliant little cookbook, full of ideas and inspiration. Short, easy recipes, more like sketches than the blueprint recipes that some books give you. Liberating, fun, and great food!
