The powerful new bestseller from the nation's favourite storyteller

Blackwell North Amer
Eighteen years ago when Harry was a boy, he made a decision that drove him from the place he knew and loved. In those early years, between boy and man, he carved out a life for himself, and somehow, he found a semblance of peace.
Yet through every waking moment during those long aching years, he was haunted by what happened when he was a boy. He never forgot that warm, carefree girl with the laughing eyes.
For Judy Saunders, the pain of her past has left her deeply scarred. Cut off from her family and trapped in a dangerous marriage to a man she doesn't love, the distant memories of her first love are her only source of comfort.
They say you never forget your first love and it's true. You could have a dozen loving relationships or even settle down with someone you would die for, but your first love is always there in your heart and soul.
Now after all these years and driven by circumstance, Harry is heading back. Excited, afraid, and full of doubts, he needs to know how events of the past have shaped Judy's life.
And most importantly, he needs to find forgiveness.

Really enjoyed the beginning. It was okay in the middle and I kind of guessed where it was going ... a little bit of a surprise in the end and I was a little disappointed in the ending. Won't be rushing out to read further novels by this author but if my list of potential reads starts to become bare I would consider trying another.

Great story!! One of her best!! This is captivating from the first page.
Lots of unexpected twists. The ending is a happy one as always with her books.
She makes you truely hate the bad guys and absolutly love the good ones. That is true talent.
