"Hidden Depths", episode 41, 2004, is asking us to believe too much. We believe murders take place, everywhere, but here we have some doozies. One man is staked out in a target zone while wine bottles are catapulted onto his body until he is dead. His wife looks on from the balcony and approves of the actions. An evil husband and wife laugh themselves silly as they watch a video of their victim being drowned by wine. A fish take has been placed over the victim's head and wine poured in. To save himself the victim must drink enough wine to keep his nose above the wine level. Barnaby and his sergeant are missing for almost twenty four hours because they are trapped inside a basement room. No one looks for them? Joyce goes off to a party and dances up a storm without her Tom, and she sleeps without caring about his absence?? Yet I am still watching these episodes. Alas, the level humans sink to in order to be entertained.
