Once again, David Sedaris brings together a collection of essays so uproariously funny and profoundly moving that his legions of fans will fall for him once more. He tests the limits of love when Hugh lances a boil from his backside, and pushes the boundaries of laziness when, finding the water shut off in his house in Normandy, he looks to the water in a vase of fresh cut flowers to fill the coffee machine. From armoring the windows with LP covers to protect the house from neurotic songbirds to the awkwardness of having a lozenge fall from your mouth into the lap of a sleeping fellow passenger on a plane, David Sedaris uses life's most bizarre moments to reach new heights in understanding love and fear, family and strangers. Culminating in a brilliantly funny (and never before published) account of his venture to Tokyo in order to quit smoking, David Sedaris's sixth essay collection will be avidly anticipated.

Baker & Taylor
A new collection of essays by the author of Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim celebrates the foibles of his everyday life in France and America, from an attempt to make coffee with water in a flower vase to a drug purchase in a North Carolina mobile home. Simultaneous.

Insightful and fun – not as *funny* as some of his books but I still found it pretty hilarious.

This isn't my favorite Sedaris book, but his witty humor always makes me laugh. This audiobook was good company on a very long flight across the Pacific.

Took it on my drive to Montreal. Had a driveway moment when I arrived.
My friends thought I was crying in my car... I was laughing!

Consistently great, Sedaris does it again with this group of essays encompassing his skillful wit, humor, and emotion. It is such a joy to hear Sedaris read his own work, as he animates the text like no other, making one feel as if he is telling the story just for you. Definitely recommend.

Be very, VERY careful where you listen to this. In the privacy of your own home or car - go for it. Walking down the street or on the bus through headphones - be careful, you run the risk of either choking from trying to not laugh, or get some strange looks for laughing like a loon for no apparent reason.

It's David Sedaris reading his own essays. They're funny, sometimes sweet, mostly witty and intelligent. It's pretty much what you would expect; fortunately, that's pretty darned good.
