While this is mostly considered to be Apocrypha it shows the truth of what Life was like back then just after Jesus's ascension to Heaven. I would say that this is more for a mature Christian to read than for a child. I will also add that it also helps to read all the footnotes(even the footnotes of the first[a.k.a.main text]footnotes.
