Reading goes to the dogs in this timeless Beginner Book edited by Dr. Seuss. From big dogs and little dogs to red, green, and blue dogs, dogs going up and dogs going fast . . . who knew dogs were so busy? And laughter will ensue at the repeated question “Do you like my hat?” Like P. D. Eastman’s classic Are You My Mother? Go, Dog. Go! has been a go-to favorite for over fifty years, leaving audiences of all breeds wagging their tails with delight.

Originally created by Dr. Seuss, Beginner Books encourage children to read all by themselves, with simple words and illustrations that give clues to their meaning.

"The canine cartoons make an elementary text funny and coherent and still one of the best around."--School Library Journal.

My favorite kid's book ever - and I'm in my 40's! I babysit 3 kids under 5 and they told me I must renew it! Timeless - and Ageless

They ride in cars. I like the dog. - Kylie, age 6.

A simple book about dogs doing anything they feel like: flying helicopters, driving cars, riding carnival rides, or swimming. But told with such simple and rhythmic language that the story moves along quickly from scene to scene. An emphasis is placed on positions ("Two dogs in a house, on a boat, in the water"). The repetition appeals to young readers, both those learning to read and those -like my 3-year-old - who are simply learning about story lines. The art is classic and uncomplicated.

A classic! A fun read-aloud and beginning reader.

The very first book I ever read all by myself. So happy it made the list.

A little long, so child's interest wanes towards end.

Wonderful book for new readers. I first read this book aloud to my son when he was 4 - he loved it. Now, he's 6 and he loves reading it to me. Great book for new readers.

In P.D. Eastman's classic book, Go Dog Go, the reader follows along with dogs doing a variety of un-doglike actions. The dogs adventure from mazes to riding in cars to playing in the water to joining a big dog party. The book asks some questions to keep the reader engaged. This is quite a few pages, but an easy read.
