Gloomy and moody. I did not pick up that Verloc is Russian, not British. (That's what it says on this site for the synopsis.) At no point do we see him speaking Russian, even with the Russian dude giving orders. It wasn't easy to sit…

The Secret Agent British 19th century spy drama was not action-packed as I expected, but loaded with character and classic twists and turns. A sombre ending, but not when you think about it.

This just didn't do it for me. Yes, it was mediocre, but I am looking for more than that. Try "Never Look Away" instead. It is incredible!

Rated 6/10. Okay, but not great. The plot wasn't that interesting. The acting was good, but the story couldn't carry the film over 3 hours.

Another wonderful British costume drama. The incredible thing is, there are echoes today, with Russians trying to manipulate public opinion, and with rivalries between the people who are supposed to be working together to keep everyone…

Long before we had the likes of Le Carre, Fleming, Forsythe etc., we had the brilliance of Joseph Conrad. This three part take on The Secret Agent is superbly acted and a first rate interpretation of the novel.

toby is absolutely great -- what a great performance. rarely does a performance add to a great novel -- toby is superb -- adding to what is already a great work of art. fully expected to hate this production. never underestimate a great…

Story by Joseph Conrad.

A very underwhelming production. None of the characters are at all likeable and the scope of the plot is so minor in comparison with today that its almost laughable. It lacked emotion from the actors and suspense from the director. The…

A rich production that is quite good. Not great, but quite good. Worth a look.

Hitchcock did it better. I enjoyed the costumes, and scenery.

A very solid rendition of one of the essential texts for understanding terrorism. The usual impeccable performances one expects from Brit actors in BBC production. An aside: When captured, Teddy Kozinsky the Unabomber had a much-read copy…

This is a three-episode BBC TV serial based on Joseph Conrad's tremendous novel THE SECRET AGENT (1907). The first two episodes drag to the point of painfulness, but then the final episode hits the bull's-eye that Conrad intended. We are…

Rather good story, with a few good twists and turns. Ending however was fairly predicable.

I enjoyed this. An engrossing story that explores in detail the personal relationships within a family that is ultimately destroyed by power struggles between great empires.

The latest BBC rendition of the Conrad cult classic, with minor changes but remains to be a dreary tale in late Victorian London that could have reflected some chaotic migrant communities around the world today. A fictional account of a…
