While Oliver Twist is one of Charles Dickens’ most famous novels, with an abundance of book and movie adaptations, its true underlying message goes manyatimes underappreciated. Through its satirical humor and its emotional representation…

In his introduction to this novel, G. K. Chesterton wrote — referring to Oliver’s everlasting quotation asking for more — that <i>”Oliver Twist is not pathetic because he is a pessimist. Oliver Twist is pathetic because he is an optimist.…

I love Oliver Twist! But sadly, this is an abridged version, and what it leaves out truly does a disservice to Dickens. I recommend the unabridged novel; I do not recommend this eBook version.

Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens is a wonderful classic fiction novel. The child as a protagonist was something which appealed to me for me to pick up this read, and the narration doesn't disappoint. The journey the character's life takes…

I think I like Dickens’ truly comedic books more than his melodramas. This one does have many of his engaging features, like situations that evoke a reader’s sympathies, characters so bad that they become villainous archetypes, and…

There's a reason this one's a classic, and that Charles Dickens is one of the world's greatest authors. Oliver Twist has adventure, brilliant characters such as Fagin (one of the most indelible characters in any novel), Bumble, Bill…

I have read most of Dickens work and continue to reread many. I have been touched by the skill, power and superb craft infused into the stories. Art reflecting life as a painting in words so rich in color and vibrancy is cherished each…

I had tried reading Oliver Twist in print twice, but could not get into it. This reading by Nadia May is superb. She has a charming voice. The story just comes alive. I highly recommend it.

Oliver Twist is such a great story. If you've seen the movie and want to read the book as well, be warned that the book is much darker than the children's movies. However, I just finished it and I was very satisfied with it! Charles…

Despite the many coincidences in the plot and the sometimes moralistic tone of the story, I enjoyed this novel. Dickens strikes the perfect balance between pathos and humor in “Oliver Twist”. I found England’s 19th century poor laws…

I read 'Tale of Two cities' and HATED IT!!! But Oliver Twist is fantastic!!! Read it! It's better than some of the rubbish being written right now. P.S. I got the book that looks like the one shown in the description.

This is the BEST book I've ever read. Definately deserves a second time read. Or even a third (in my case), if you love the book.
