Doesn’t have the gravity or suspense of his more popular books, but still a good read. It’s a Grisham “beach read” that is interesting enough to keep turning pages until all those mai tais catchup and send you into that midday nap.

Grisham writes a lot of best sellers, but he sometimes lets his contempt for the legal profession take center stage in telling a tale. This is one of those polemics, and it impedes the storytelling. As such, I liked the novel a lot less…

Loved the book. Lawyers are a necessary evil and in some instances more so than others.
Pharmaceutical firms should be cracked down on when or where ever possible. They are far greedier than the seedy lawyers pursuing them.

Did enjoy and love this book very much! All characters are interesting, goofy, but likeable. Grisham has a great sense of humor - I laughed a lot! Definitely, this book made me feel excited and warm without any dull moments.

Rarely a John Grisham i don't enjoy, and this did not disappoint. Took a while to actually like the characters, but presumably a realistic picture of different niches in the law profession. Grisham's attention to detail balanced with…

This was a wonderful book to read. John Grisham really shows some of the nasty tactics of litigators and companies. It really kept me wanting to read more.

Did not like characters till into one third of the book. Enjoyed last third.

As with most Grisham novels, an excellent read. I found the conclusion especially satisfying. The lines between the 'good guys' and 'bad guys' are blurred, as is their outcome.
I've read several Grisham novels in the past, but must say I was quite disappointed in this story. It just never seemed to pick up momentum. Although I will say I enjoyed about the last 6 chapters--story had a good ending. Only 5 out of…

The "boutique" law firm of Finley and Figg just got a little bigger with the addition of lawyer David Zinc. Funny, good characters, with the emphasis on "character", and good courtroom theatrics.
loved the book. Haven't read anything by Grisham in a long while. Great character development which is Grisham's style. Very funny images of ambulance chasing lawyers.

Classic Grisham. Loved it! I don't know why some people are saying this one is boring. The only boring Grisham novels I've read are "The Brethren" and "The Summons." All of the rest are fantastic.

Another tort case but with enough variance in plot and characters to similar works to be engaging. Written with great humor, though not as funny as his "Ford County"; great finish.
