Quite a haunting collection of stories. Bradbury is casting a light on all the terrible things that human beings have it in their nature to do.

"Bradbury's lyrical voice is haunting. I love a book that stays with me. Focuses not only on man's conquest of a planet but also the effects on the Martians." - Atti B.

Overall: This book is pretty good. It's well-written, and definitely has a lot of thought put into it. The good: Ray Bradbury's incredible writing style really helps you feel the character's emotions. We can see an example of this in…

This book is incredible. It reads like an episodic novel: a series of short stories and prose poetry interludes, all of which are woven together into a narrative that transcends a simple 'novel.' Some short stories I've already read of…

The book does a great job of highlighting the 1960 point of view from a social and politic standpoint through each short story. The fear of Nuclear War and the destruction of earth are the predominate themes.

A true science fiction classic. A collection of short stories that must be read by anyone who is a fan of the genre.

Definitely a sci-fi classic. If you enjoyed it, I recommend THE ILLUSTRATED MAN, and THE GREEN HILLS OF EARTH (Robert Heinlein), next. Also, for a more purely adventure- story, I can heartily recommend the dozen or so novels which make…

I love this book so much, it's so humorous and whimsical, but also stares reality strait in the face, it plays with the fantasy of man conquering mars and strips away some of the romanticism of that fantasy. Really thought provoking,…

Ray Bradbury was known as one of the founding fathers of the modern science fiction genre. I thought I would reread his stories as I had originally read this as a youngster and I would be able to see if the passage of time changed my…

Ray Bradbury was an author that transcends so many timelines. The Martian Chronicles is an amazing piece that puts you in the scene and makes you think way outside your personal box. I recommend this book for teenagers & adults.

A wonderful little book. Despite being written decades ago, the futuristic themes are not only still plausible but are still being actively pursued (or feared)...travel to Mars, fully automated houses, AI, nuclear war, etc. Often times…

It was an odd start, and I was a bit hesitant to read it at first, but after the first few stories it became one of the best books I have read. So poetic and insightful, so beautiful. I could not put this book down, and it placed Ray…

Ray Bradbury was way ahead of his time. This book put him on the top of my favorite author's list. His brevity is punctual and effective. He gives you just enough to let your imagination fly. And yet, the words chosen by his characters,…

This was one of my earliest experiences with science fiction and is a book that I return to again and again. I am always reminded why I connected with it initially while finding new things to love about it each time.
